Admiral Byrd Diary
Section 0800 Hours - 0949 Hours
|::0910 "Both Magnetic and Gyro compasses beginning to gyrate and wobble, we are unable to hold our heading by instrumentation."
He is flying over an unexplored South Pole. Hundreds of miles from NO-where.
- Does he decide caution may be the best option here ?
- Possibly return to base and devise a new strategy as a military man might plan?
- He is the man we all want to be, he flies on into the face of uncertainty and almost certain danger.
"we are unable to hold our heading by instrumentation"
How does Byrd plan to get back to a tiny base camp in the middle of a white desert when his navigation capability just got shot in the ass?
Plotting a course out is the only way he could accurately plot a course safely back to base camp.
Perhaps Byrd was also psychic?
|AGAIN:: >> "The controls are seemingly slow to respond and have sluggish quality..."
- ... Does he decide caution may be the best option here ?
- ... Possibly return to base and devise a new strategy as a military man might plan?
- ... No
- ... He is the man we all want to be, he flies on into the face of uncertainty and almost certain danger
He is .................... a moron. At least the person who wrote this diary certainly is.
|:: 0949 Hours - "29 minutes elapsed flight time from the first sighting of the mountains, it is no illusion. They are mountains and consisting of a small range that I have never seen before."
and consisting of a small range that I have never seen before
What an incredibly stupid comment for such a supposedly intelligent man to make.
This may have something to do with the FACT that he has never been THERE before, REMEMBER that he was on an EXPLORATORY mission.
The first half of the sentence tells you that he has never been there before. "It Is NO Illusion"
If he had been there before, he would have expected to see these mountains...
The above is re-inforced by his statement at 0915 Hours.
0915 Hours - In the distance is what appears to be mountains.
Why make such a "WOW, Look at that.... Mountains" statement if he was "Au Fait" with this Route?
POINT TO PONDER
Ponder this, if you will.
Mountains in the South Pole == 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 +++
Mountains in the North Pole == 0
South Pole wins. Yeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh.
Also, If you travel FROM Little America (the assumed base camp - again no specific name is given to this base camp) towards the South Pole, you would encounter Mountains at around the times stated or close approximations of them.
This seriously squeezes out the North Pole "red herring".
